Why I don’t review disposables

Disposables.

They offer a no-maintenance, buy-and-vape experience, and fit in the pocket.

So, why hasn’t The Vapor Ninja reviewed any of them ?

For starters, let me just say straight off that however you vape, if you are avoiding tobacco, you’re a winner. I mostly say this to ex-smokers, but to the others as well, good job on making a choice that’s less harmful than tobacco.

I have to say though, that you’re not being super responsible by using disposable vapes.

First, let me point to the obvious reasons.

The plastic in the landfills is one thing. However, when we talk about the batteries inside, the lithium-ion batteries, it gets much worse.

Leaking batteries pose a significant problem for the soil and water table. They also have a nasty habit of exploding into flames, causing fires that can’t be put out. Many dump sites have huge fires breaking out because of these batteries.

Also worth mentioning, those batteries are rechargeable. So what could have been used approximately 800 times has been reduced to 1. All the manufacturing, mining, transport and all involved for one use. Pretty bad, in my opinion.

Disposables are just another link in the chain of the new ‘disposable culture’ that we have these days. Single-use is increasingly popular.

With all that, I can personally say that the flavors I’ve tried have been just awful. This is not premium e-juice in these things. It’s Chinese mystery juice, basically.

Also, product safety is a question, seeing as most disposables are ‘tested’ before release to the public. Let me explain their testing, It’s entry level workers literally putting their mouth on the devices and inhaling. Videos, like the one below, show there is no post-‘testing’ cleanup. Ugh.

So as I’ve explained, disposables pollute, they waste valuable resources, costing people and the planet to suffer, and are a low-end product at best.

I can see picking one up when you’re out and don’t have your vape with you, occasionally. I can see uses for them. However, if you are a long-term vaper, and are getting by on disposables… why not try a traditional vape some time ?

Sure, you have to replace the coil, or wick. Sure, you gotta fill it with e-juice. Is that really such a bother ?

So, in closing, I urge those of you that are on a long-term basis of using disposables, to think about investing in a multi-use vape.

You will save money, too. In the long term, you will spend on average of $600 or more per year from disposables than you would with a permanent vape device.

Those are essentially my reasons for not using/reviewing disposables.
