The TITAN V2 PWM Mod

SteamCrave has done it again, released a WINNER apparatus !

If you’ve seen my review of the Titan v1.5 mod, you’ll have seen SteamCrave’s previous version of their Titan Mod, designed for the Titan V2 RDTA.

Like the v1.5, the Titan v2 mod works with variable voltage. This means you select the voltage you want applied to your tank or dripper. Not to worry, when pressing the fire button, the mod shows the wattage that is being delivered to your atomizer.

PWM

Also like the v1.5, the Titan v2 mod uses PWM, that is, pulse width modulation, to deliver its power.

Pulse width modulation works by rapidly (hundreds of thousand to million times) switching the power on and off.

PWM saves power over typical resistor based power systems. In one example, when you drop 12V to 6V with 1A of current, you lose 6W of power just as heat. With PWM, you would lose about 1.33 watts. Typically, it can achieve **efficiencies of 90-95% or higher** in practical applications. The power loss is mostly from the resistance of the switching components.

2S2P

The voltage range on the Titan V2 mod goes from 1.0 volts to 8.4 volts. It reaches 8.4 volts because of the battery configuration, “2S2P”.

The “2S2P” config means, with 4 batteries, split into sets of 2 each, in each set the batteries are in parallel with each other while the 2 sets are in series with each other.

This means you get the best battery life, as it doubles the mAh rating, and also doubles the voltage of the batteries.

Thus, with 2600 mAh batteries, when fully charged, you get 5200 mAh and 8.4 volts !

Long battery life and great power.

You will find you get twice the battery life compared to other quad-battery mods.

The Titan v2 mod can deliver up to 300 watts of power. It can take up to 41mm diameter atomizers with no over-hang.

This is not surprising as its mate, the Titan v2 RDTA, is 41mm wide.

This year (2025) is SteamCrave’s 10th anniversary, so they’re celebrating it with the release of this mod, and also, an 18K gold plated version of this mod is available (limited supply). It comes as a combo kit with a gold Titan v2 RDTA.

The feel of the mod is great. With the Titan v2 RDTA, the weight is perfectly balanced. Otherwise, the mod on its own is bottom-heavy. A good sturdy weight with all 4 batteries installed.

The mod can be run on 2 batteries as well.

It has ergonomic cut-outs for your fingers on 2 sides of the mod.

The Titan v2 mod is very basic. No temp control options, no color options, in fact, no mode options at all.

Simply pure power delivered in variable voltage.

Use

The one option is to click the firing button 3 times to lock the voltage buttons, keeping your voltage setting from getting adjusted mistakenly.

Clicking the fire button 5 times turns on/off the mod.

The battery door is robust and strong. Locks firmly into place with a lever and seems to be built well. Hinged onto the body.

The TFT screen is easily read, and bright enough to see in daylight.

SteamCrave has really hit it out of the park with this mod ! I’m loving it, and so should you.

The 510 is spring loaded, and the 510 plate has channels for heat dissipation and airflow.

One interesting note is that my mod has a larger wattage indicator than others’. Not sure if it was a silent upgrade, or what.

I’m fully enjoying this mod. Seems to be a tough beast.
